博士号（PhD、MD、MD/PhD またはこれに相当する学位）を持ち、助成開始日である2027年1月1日時点で独立した研究者（independent investigator）であること。応募締切時点で AACR の Active 会員（当年度会費納入済み）であること。さらなる博士号の取得候補者、米国連邦政府機関や営利企業の被雇用者および下請け契約者（subcontractor）、他の AACR 助成を同時に保持する者は対象外。日本の大学や研究機関に所属したまま応募できる。公式の逐語引用は次のとおり。Work at an academic, medical, or research institution anywhere in the world. / There are no citizenship or geographic requirements.
